Most Trafficked Real Estate Publisher Site

What does it take to be the most trafficked real estate website? For the second month in a row Yahoo Real Estate has edged out Realtor.com as the number one traffic spot based on the Hitwise monthly category traffic list. Zillow and Trulia trailed in at the number three and four spots, while HGTV’s Frontdoor.com has now made it to the top ten of the list. Back in September, Yahoo Real Estate has captured around 5.87 percent of the traffic in the real estate category website compared to Realtor.com’s market share of 5.76 percent. So what has Yahoo Real Estate have that the other sites don’t?

Yahoo has teamed up with Zillow to add the ability for visitors to personalize their home page. The consumer can go from “Yahoo central” to house or apartment hunting to get a better look at the local real estate market. By teaming up with Zillow, consumers have the feasibility to access the local real estate market without having to venture to far from Yahoo.

HGTV’s FrontDoor.com assists first time home buyers a free e-newsletter subscription to offer any tips and advice on purchasing a home. With the quick and simple registration, prospecting home buyers also have access to other HGTV news and tips on how to improve their home. FrontDoor City guides offer multifaceted glimpses into various U.S. cities. You can look at demographics, popular neighborhoods, consumer reviews of local businesses, real estate listings, and USDA hardiness guide for gardners.

To be a successful real estate publisher, such as Yahoo or Zillow, the sites themselves have become a convenient one-stop-shop for today’s busy consumers. Partnering with another company such as Yahoo and Zillow’s partnership has proven to be successful. If Realtor.com wants to be back at the number one traffic spot, a good partnership with another company such as Trulia can help.
